Nestled on York Street in the heart of Sydney’s bustling city center, this cafe offers a calm spot to grab a strong coffee or a quick, satisfying bite. Many drop in early to enjoy a carefully pulled piccolo or a single origin espresso, often alongside a bacon and egg roll or a Chinese donut for a touch of something different. The atmosphere tends to be casual and easygoing, making it a favored stop for solo diners looking for a brief pause between meetings or a quiet moment with their sketchbook during lunch.
The menu leans toward approachable brunch and lunch options, with sandwiches and wraps like the chicken schnitzel salad or peri peri chicken providing filling, straightforward meals that pair well with the great coffee on offer. It’s a place where the pace matches the city’s rhythm without adding any extra noise—a friendly, family-run feel comes through in the warm service and the relaxed pace, even during busy hours.
This spot attracts a mix of office workers and locals who appreciate quick, fresh food without the fuss. Accessibility is thoughtfully considered with a wheelchair-accessible entrance and seating, though there isn’t onsite restroom access. While reservations aren’t accepted, the flow of takeaway and dine-in options ensures efficiency without cutting corners on quality.

5 A true definition of a family run small business! Visit them for one of the best coffee served with the best attitude that you want early morning before starting work or the awesome lunch served to keep you going! Thanks Alex, Sheryl and everyone who works so hard in the cafe yet never fail to serve with smile !
5 Amazing coffee and service! Shirley is specially nice to me and my friends. Very convenient spot, portion size and great price. I really recommend it! My favourite is bacon egg roll (big portion) with Coffee special for $12.
5 The warmest, friendliest and quickest service paired with excellent coffee you'll walk away feeling good every time you visit.
5 Great coffee, friendly service and for no credit card surcharges!
5 This is my favorite coffee shop around my working place. I have tried a lot of cafes until I found Double Brew. Their piccolo is the best. I always have my afternoon cup of piccolo here, because there is always a long line in the morning, I prefer the afternoon quiet time to enjoy my coffee. The most soothing moment is to take a sip of coffee during my lunch break and do my illustration, it always makes me feel excited (caffeine effect) and almost forgot I have to go back to work. I also tried their PeriPeri Chicken wrap, which is good too. It has loads veggie and the sauce is not that overwhelming. By that I mean sometimes the sauce of a wrap can be so much and so strong, which I don’t really like. By the way it is quite cheap, ONLY $8! In the CBD it is really a bargain. You can order your food from the app Hey You, it can save you the waiting time. This is a nice little cafe, though not so many seats there, but the piccolo there is really worth trying.
5 Great cafe on York Street. Really enjoyed the Bacon Egg Avo on Turkish. Really good! Coffee is nice and hot too. Service is fast and efficient Recommended.
5 Very nice Chinese street food. The chef and his wife are very friendly and made the very traditional Chinese food. Happy to found the small but convenient takeaway /eat-in near Wynyard station
